ISAG Permittees Implement more than 100% Social Programs in 2011

Two Industrial Sand and Gravel (ISAG) Permittees along Kennon Road, Tuba, Benguet, has implemented more than 100% of its approved 2011 social programs and activities which undoubtedly manifested their sincere intentions to develop their nearby mining communities.

ML Carantes Development and General Construction Enterprises and Mountain Rock Aggregates, owned by Maria L. Carantes and BenitoY. Co, respectively, reported accomplishments on health, education, livelihood, infrastructure and Information Education and Communication (IEC) programs.

SICE Conducts Experiential Learning Seminar-Workshop

The Synchronized Information and Communication Education (SICE) Team, composed of representatives from the different operating, exploration and industrial sand and gravel groups in CAR convened at the Mines and Geosciences Bureau-CAR Conference Hall on February 29 to March 1, 2012 to finally strategize and identify the different facets that can be credited in the implementation of the IEC and development of mining technology and geosciences (DMTG) under the Social Development and Management Program (SDMP) and Community Development Program (CDP) of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau.

Apayao Miners Leave Work for Seminar on SSM Laws

Apayao miners leave work for the Seminar on SSM laws. About 150 small-scale miners in Apayao left their tunnels to attend the 2-day seminar provided by the Provincial Governor’s Office on Small-Scale Mining (SSM) laws, rules and regulations which included mine safety, health and environmental protection. The activity was in partnership with the Mines and Geosciences Bureau, Regional Office who gave the series of lectures and presentations on April 24-25, 2012 at the Gymnasium of Kabugao.
